To be fair my first experience with Vietnamese and Cambodian sandwiches was at Num Pang on 12th and University in NYC. If you have experiences Num Pang it will give you a reference point for where I am coming from. Num Pang is my personal favorite in NYC as far as sandwiches go.

Aesthetically everything is very SF. Clean modern lines with thrifty reclaimed type decor elements. In addition to a couple booths and a few tables there is also a bar along the kitchen. Options are nice for when I am coupling or going solo.

The Roast Pork sandwich and Grilled Corn were my first visit choice. Roast Pork seems relatively traditional and the corn is straight forward.

Everything was nice and light. Roast Pork was refreshen and even the spicy was not to bad for those who like heat. They have Sriracha sauce available for those who want more spice. The corn was lightly grilled with a touch of coconut if I am not mistaken.

Definitely a different meal then Num Pang. The pluses with Bun Mee are the much wider menu – several sides/starters and additional salads/entrees – and they have Vietnamese iced coffee, I love this little extra. The only down really is that a short bus ride will take you to a similar but cheaper sandwich. It is maybe a $3 difference so it is more about convenience then anything.

Will return many times I am sure. Good sandwich + good location. As I try more sandwiches, I will put then up.
